The removal of one or two teeth is a simple procedure. Extracting multiple teeth requires that the jawbone be shaped to prepare for implant replacement or for a full or partial denture. You may experience some swelling and discomfort during the first 48 hours. The muscles near the extraction site may become sore after surgery, causing a sore throat. Take any prescribed pain medication and antibiotic, or over the counter pain reliever as instructed. Apply cold compresses to the face in the area of extractions as directed during the first 48 hours. The corners of your mouth may become dry and cracked from being open during the surgery. Please call to schedule a follow up appointment with our office to discuss any post surgery symptoms that you are experiencing.
